RIPLEY'S FILM

Established in 2000 as a distributor specialised in library films, at present RIPLEY’S FILM distributes in Italy and abroad a wide variety of major Italian and international authors such as, among others, Bernardo Bertolucci,WimWenders, Marco Bellocchio,Werner Herzog, Gianni Amelio, Nikita Michalkov, Luchino Visconti, Alain Resnais, Roberto Rossellini, Nagisa Oshima, Luigi Zampa, Vittorio De Sica, Jean-Luc Godard, Tinto Brass, Chris Marker, Alessandro Blasetti, Walerian Borowczyck, Sergio Leone, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Mario Camerini. It has a catalogue of over 500 films spanning from art film and peplum to drama and Italian comedy.

In 2008 RIPLEY’S has distributed: The Future Is Unwritten – Joe Strummer (2007) by Julien Temple, Black House by Shin Terra (2007) and Invincible by Werner Herzog (2001). As to the next season, RIPLEY’S will be distributing Love & Other Crimes/Ljubav i drugi zlocini by Stefan Arsenijevic (2008), Exiled by Johnnie To (2006) and Toni Manero by Pablo Larrain (2008).
RIPLEY’S FILM started producing in 2004 with Maria Denis by Gianfranco Mingozzi, followed by Pasolini prossimo nostro (2006) by Giuseppe Bertolucci, which had its world premiere as a special event at the 63rd Venice Film Festival. In 2007 the company participated in the production of Un uomo privato by Emidio Greco. Un altro pianeta is the first feature film produced.
